small wind

I am fascinated by small scale wind power generation. The whole idea that you could have a bank of small generators along the ridge of your home, or integrated into a balcony or stair rail, just fascinates me. At some point our entire structures must participate in making power this way. There was a great piece in the TreeHugger blog today about tiny wind generators: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/03/hong_kong_inven.php

  1. Here's a company doing something like this with slightly more sophisticated (and slick looking) equipment....I think they're still in development, but they have several installations up and running.

  2. Great link Mike, thank you.

The installation featured in the photo on that page is at the Camden, NJ Aquarium - a few miles from my office!
