1204 RoHouse inside the transverse plan

In the last RoHouse post we started to look at the transverse stair floor plan with a view of the living room. Here we see the kitchen and dining table which is a couple of steps down from the living room. This puts the kitchen at the ground level of the rear courtyard and makes a high ceiling in the kitchen/dining space. This informal dining combined with the kitchen, while setting the living room apart on a higher level characterizes the transverse plan, and is distinctly different from the longitudinal plan which we will look at next
